HRIS and Salary Administration

HRIS supports the technical and informational needs of Human Resources (HR), Employment, Classification & Compensation, Benefits, Payroll, Employee Relations, Employee Training and HR Management functions. Some examples of HR systems are Banner HR, PeopleAdmin, EVERFI, OutSolve, HR DataMart.

HRIS provides functional support and troubleshooting for HR Team core users of the systems, to include, Employment, Classification and Compensation, Benefits, Salary Administration, Payroll, Employee Relations, Employee Training and HR Management. We provide internal and external reporting of university employee information configuration of the system to support the needs of the HR Teams. Salary Administration is responsible for employee information data entry in Banner HR.

EPAF Information

Electronic Personnel Action Form (EPAF) For Academic Affairs

These electronic documents are used to replace most paper personnel action forms (PAFs). We use them for rehired adjunct faculty Fall, Spring and Summer contracts. We use them for Perm Faculty (benefit eligible) overloads and stipends. We use them for Perm Non Faculty teaching an overload. The Originator creates the EPAF in Self Service Banner and Approvers approve the EPAF in Self Service Banner. Each EPAF is electronically tracked and viewable by the Originator and all Approvers as they move through the approval queues.

Many EPAFs require just the employee’s Banner ID, position number, position suffix and contract amount. Most EPAFs have the begin and end date of the payments prepopulated. Some require FTE to be entered, but not all require FTE.

EPAFs require attention to detail to ensure the correct EPAF is used, the correct position number and suffix are used, the payment amount and number of payments are correct, the begin and end dates are correct for the EPAF created.

Using the incorrect EPAF, incorrect information or delays in creating and approving the EPAFs can cause incorrect payments or missed payments to employees. Below are reference materials for EPAFs.
