Julius L. Chambers Biomedical and Biotechnology Research Institute (JLC-BBRI)
The Julius L. Chambers Biomedical and Biotechnology Research Institute (JLC-BBRI) conducts multidisciplinary and inter-institutional research focused on addressing health disparities, with ample opportunities for students to get involved and enhance their access to careers in the biomedical sciences.
Biomanufacturing Research Institute and Technology Enterprise (BRITE)
With dual missions of health research and degree-focused workforce development, the Biomanufacturing Research Institute and Technology Enterprise (BRITE) provides education and training in biotechnology and biomanufacturing for both undergraduate and graduate students.

Recent News
University experienced increases in sponsored research (97.4%) and fundraising (8.6%) for 2022-2023, as well as growth in enrollment (5.5%) and housing for fall 2023.
NCCU, Duke CTSI and the Duke-NCCU Bridge Office present “Kites,” an ethnodrama focusing on the diverse voices and lived experiences of those addicted to opioids, Oct. 14-16.
NCCU and RTI International hosted a ribbon cutting to celebrate the launch of the NCCU-RTI Center for Applied Research in Environmental Sciences (CARES) and an accompanying shared lab space on RTI’s campus.
