Campus Safety Updates
The safety of North Carolina Central University’s (NCCU) community and guests at the 2023 Ultimate Homecoming Experience is the University’s top priority. NCCU Police will enforce the University’s policies and regulations, and North Carolina State general statutes, including those related to alcohol, illegal substances and weapons. Violators of these policies, regulations and statutes will be permanently trespassed from NCCU or arrested.
The following security updates will be implemented to provide a safe and enjoyable week of Homecoming festivities:
- NCCU Police Partnerships: NCCU Police will partner with the North Carolina Alcohol Law-Enforcement and the Anti-Counterfeit Task Force to reduce illegal alcohol violations and the sale of counterfeit merchandise during homecoming festivities. All violations will be handled according to the law.
- James E. Shepard Library Bowl: Large- and medium-sized bags, including bookbags and purses, will not be allowed into the Library Bowl area. All attendees must adhere to the Department of Athletics’ clear bag policy. Individuals found carrying prohibited bags will be escorted off campus.
Bags that are allowed:
- Clear bags under 12"x12"x6"
- Plastic one-gallon bags
- 4.5" x 6.5" cushion seats
- Wallets
- 9.5" x 17" stadium
Prohibited bags:
- Backpacks
- Binocular cases
- Camera bags
- Cinch bags
- Computer bags
- Fanny packs
- Mesh bags
- Oversized tote bags
- Printed pattern bags
- Large purses
- Tinted plastic bags
