SOE's Accrediting Bodies and Professional Standards

The School of Education (SOE) oversees the Educator Preparation Program (EPP) at North Carolina Central University. The EPP comprises numerous initial and advanced-level programs that are state approved and nationally accredited.

 

Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP)

CAEP advances equity and excellence in educator preparation through evidence-based accreditation that assures quality and supports continuous improvement to strengthen P-12 student learning.

The School of Education at North Carolina Central University has been granted accreditation at both the initial licensure and advanced levels by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP). This accreditation is effective from Fall 2022 to Fall 2029.

 

  • Measure 1. Completer effectiveness: Impact on P-12 learning and development (CAEP Standard R4.1)
  • Measure 2. Satisfaction of employers and stakeholder involvement (CAEP Standard R4.2 I R5.3|RA.4.1)
  • Measure 3. Candidate competency at program completion (CAEP Standard R3.3)
  • Measure 4. Ability of completers to be hired in education positions for which they have prepared

 

North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI)

NCDPI oversees the public school system in the U.S. state of North Carolina. The DPI is headed by the state superintendent and the North Carolina State Board of Education.
