The TRIO Student Acce[SSS] Program provides proactive support services for SAS scholars who are the first in their families to attend college or are from limited-income households.
Equipping students with disabilities with the skills necessary to increase retention, graduation and post-baccalaureate success.

Acce[SSS] scholars can apply for scholarship funding through the program to provide debt relief and assistance with accomplishing financial goals.
Acce[SSS] staff members and peer academic leaders (PALs) provide 1:1 coaching, small-group support and general guidance to aid students academically, personally and professionally.
Acce[SSS] scholars receive assistance completing graduate school applications, developing personal statements, completing the FAFSA and developing skills that will make them competitive applicants.
Acce[SSS] offers program participants the opportunity to learn about budgeting and saving, investing, credit, loans and strategies to help promote effective financial stewardship.
Acce[SSS] scholars can receive both financial assistance and academic skill-building assistance to prepare for the Graduate Record Examinations (GRE), Law School Admission Test (LSAT), Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT), Pharmacy College Admission Test (PCAT), Dental Admission Test (DAT) and other entrance exams.
Acce[SSS] scholars have the opportunity to visit various local, regional and national colleges to find the perfect graduate school for them.
Upward Bound (UB) students can participate in workshops, summits and information sessions about various STEM careers and skill development.
Acce[SSS] scholars participate in local, state and regional conferences to promote student development and peer networking.
Acce[SSS] provides mentors to students to help them transition into high school and into college.
Acce[SSS] offers programs and activities to help students develop leadership skills.
Students can gain community service hours for graduation, scholarships and college applications by volunteering with Acce[SSS].
Acce[SSS] scholars have the opportunity to receive academic, housing, transportation and other accommodations as a component of Student Accessibility Services.
The NCCU Summer Leadership Academy is a three-week intensive leadership development program for rising second- to fourth-year TRIO Acce[SSS] and McNair scholars. The Summer Leadership Academy (SLA) provides scholars with an opportunity to participate in one of three specialized tracks (Financial Literacy, Graduate School Prep or Career Prep) and improve their overall leadership and life skills.
The Summer Access and Success Program is a four-week summer enrichment program to aid newly admitted freshmen and transfer students in their transition to North Carolina Central University. This program is facilitated in partnership with Student Accessibility Services, Excel Scholars Program, TRIO Student Support Services, TRIO Ronald E. McNair Scholars Program and the TRIO Upward Bound Program.
