NCCU uses Rave to communicate important information to the campus community. Rave is able to reach community members via SMS (text) messaging, email and telephone calls. There are several types of notifications broadcast by Rave:
- Emergency Notification: notifies the campus community of an incident or condition that presents an immediate or imminent threat to life or property
- Timely Warning: notifies the campus community of a criminal incident that presents an ongoing threat
- Crime Alert: notifies the campus community of a criminal incident that does not present an imminent or ongoing threat
- General Information: provides general information from the Police Department to the campus community (i.e., safety tips or advice)
All students, faculty and staff are automatically enrolled in Rave. To manage your account, go to www.getrave.com. When prompted to enter the site name, type “North Carolina Central University.” Your login information will be your NCCU Windows login. To manage your account, go to the drop-down menu in the top right and select “Manage My Account." you will then be able to add and modify your telephone numbers and email addresses.
