The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Eshelman School of Pharmacy (ESOP) and the North Carolina Central University (NCCU) Department of Pharmacy and Health Professions Career Center established an Early Assurance Program (EAP) for NCCU students interested in pursuing a Doctor of Pharmacy degree. The NCCU Health Professions Career Center (HPCC) university pre-health advisor will review candidates and recommend them to the EAP. The UNC ESOP’s admissions office will review the applicant’s file. Students meeting the pre-determined admission criteria established by the UNC ESOP’s committee will be invited for an interview.
Students accepted into the EAP must maintain a set of predetermined standards to remain in good standing in the program:
- Complete all prerequisite coursework with no grade lower than C-
- Earn a minimum cumulative 3.2 GPA by the end of the spring semester preceding fall enrollment in the Pharm.D. program
- Meet with a pre-pharmacy advisor at least once each semester prior to matriculation into the Pharm.D. program
- Uphold the Academic Honesty Policy
- Meet the health requirements/prerequisites established by the UNC ESOP for all entering students.
