NCCU School of Law's Legal Eagles Shine in TYLA National Competition

North Carolina Central University's (NCCU) School of Law is celebrating the success of its student team at the recent Texas Young Lawyers Association (TYLA) national competition held in Columbia, South Carolina. The team’s performance secured them a spot in the semi-final rounds, making NCCU  one of only three North Carolina law schools to advance to reach that stage. 

Two remarkable competitors, Devonte Wilson (3L) and Keri Edwards (2L), earned the  Outstanding Advocate Award, a testament to their exemplary advocacy skills and commitment to legal excellence. 

Special recognition goes to student coaches Janayla Brown (3L) and Taylor Phillips (3L), whose voluntary leadership were instrumental in the team’s preparation. Professor Dana Jones also provided mentorship, guiding the team to success.
