NCCU School of Law Hosted Second Annual Human Trafficking Symposium

North Carolina Central University School of Law (NCCU), in collaboration with the North Carolina Administrative Office of the Courts and the North Carolina Human Trafficking Commission, hosted the Second Annual Human Trafficking Awareness and Training Symposium on Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2025,  at the NCCU School of Law Great Hall.   

This event provided students, legal professionals, advocates and community members with critical insights into the realities of human trafficking, strategies for prevention and support for survivors. Attendees engaged with leading experts including Ashley Tauscher of the North Carolina Human Trafficking Commission, Assistant U.S. Attorney Casey Peaden, Courtney Dunkerton of the North Carolina Coalition Against Sexual Assault, Emma Paul of the North Carolina Innocence Inquiry Commission, Judge Ashleigh Parker ‘12 and Judge Kendra Montgomery-Blinn. The event concluded with a special screening of the film, Resilience, which highlights the strength and perseverance of survivors.
