The North Carolina Central University community mourns the passing of our distinguished alumni member Andre’ Leon Talley, Class of 1970. A Durham native, Alumnus Talley had a profound impact and expansive influence on the fashion and journalism industries worldwide. When visiting his hometown in 2019, he shared words of wisdom with us that will always be part of his distinguished legacy.

‘Anyone can be talented, but confidence is needed to go out into the world and make a lasting impression.’

This is certainly the way Alumnus Talley lived his life and how he will be remembered forever. Please take a moment to read his story in the Summer 2019 edition of NCCU Now magazine here.
