NCCU Police Undergoing Re-Accreditation

North Carolina Central University (NCCU) Campus Police Chief, Damon Williams, is pleased to announce an on-site assessment from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA®).  

CALEA Assessor, Chief Kenneth Rogers of the Mississippi State University Police Department, will visit the NCCU Campus Police from Monday, October 9, through Wednesday, October 11, 2023. Chief Rogers will examine all aspects of the NCCU Police Department’s policies and procedures, management, operations and support services to verify that the NCCU Police Department meets the CALEA standards. 

University employees and members of the community are invited to offer comments related to the department’s compliance with the CALEA standards, how police interact with the community, delivery of public safety services and overall candidacy for accredited status. Public comment can be given via the CALEA public comment portal found at the NCCU Campus Police website or by visiting: https://cimrs2.calea.org/221

The overall intent of the accreditation process is to provide NCCU Campus Police with information to support continuous improvement and foster its pursuit of professional excellence.
