The North Carolina Central University (NCCU) Counselor Education Program was recently ranked by topcounselingschools.org as one of the nation’s top five accredited online master’s counseling degree programs.

To determine the rankings, the organization examined tuition costs, flexibility, student-to-faculty ratio, student support services, and pragmatic learning opportunities, as well as Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs accreditation status.

The online master’s counseling degree, offered through the Department of Allied Professions in the School of Education, has three CACREP-accredited programs: career counseling, clinical mental health counseling and school counseling.

The NCCU School of Education offers degree programs in elementary and middle-grades education; as well as educational technology; school administration; community; career and school counseling; communication disorders; and five concentrations in special education. All programs are fully accredited by their respective bodies.
