Dear Eagle Family:

It is with great sadness that I inform you that Ms. Mary Ann Colatuno, paralegal in the Office of Legal Affairs at North Carolina Central University, passed away on Wednesday, August 4, 2021.

Mary Ann joined the Office of Legal Affairs on June 1, 2015. Prior to working at NCCU, she served as a law office manager and family law paralegal in private law firms in Raleigh. She briefly worked for the N.C. Department of Justice in the Agricultural Division of the Services to State Agencies section.

Ms. Colatuno was a certified paralegal through the North Carolina State Bar and the National Association of Legal Assistants Inc., and was a member of the North Carolina Bar Association, Paralegal Division. She was a graduate of Meredith College.

Colleagues in Office of Legal Affairs describe Mary Ann as a valued team member who greeted everyone with her bright smile and warm spirit. They note that she truly enjoyed serving at NCCU. She often spoke fondly of the love she had for her family.

Please keep Mary Ann’s children—daughters, Kristy and Lauryn, and son, Joseph—other family members, friends and her coworkers in your thoughts and prayers. Funeral arrangements have not been finalized. An online tribute is available to sign here: https://www.dignitymemorial.com/obituaries/apex-nc/mary-ann-colatuno-10296436
