Hudson Named Assistant Dean of Students

The North Carolina Central University (NCCU) Division of Student Affairs (DSA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Qubanae’ Hudson as the new assistant dean of students within the Office of the Dean of Students.  

Hudson brings experience in student affairs, case management, crisis response, and student support services. She has been an integral part of NCCU’s Office of the Dean of Students, previously serving as interim assistant dean of students and case manager, where she developed and implemented key student-focused initiatives that promote student resiliency and success.  

In her new role, Hudson will lead student basic needs programs, crisis intervention efforts, and behavioral case management, ensuring that students receive the support necessary for their well-being and academic success. She will also serve as a key liaison between students, faculty, staff, and families, overseeing student welfare programs, crisis response coordination, and intervention strategies. 

Hudson earned her bachelor’s degree in communication science disorders from North Carolina A&T State University and a master’s degree in college student personnel administration from the University of Central Arkansas.  

Her professional background includes serving as interim assistant dean of students at NCCU, where she managed the T.R.U. Eagles Initiative, led outreach programs, oversaw non-clinical case management, and played a key role in crisis response and behavioral intervention.  As a case manager at NCCU, she provided early intervention, behavioral assessments, and crisis support while ensuring students had access to vital resources and referrals. Prior to her time at NCCU, she worked as a residence coordinator and conduct officer at the University of Central Arkansas, where she supervised residential communities, managed student conduct cases, and facilitated student staff development. Additionally, as a graduate coordinator in NCCU’s Office of the Dean of Students, she conducted research and implemented strategies to enhance student conduct policies and support systems. 

Hudson is a dedicated professional with a strong background in behavioral intervention, crisis management, and student success strategies. She is an active member of the Higher Education Case Managers Association (HECMA), the National Association for Behavioral Intervention and Threat Assessment (NABITA), and the Southern Association for College Student Affairs (SACSA). As assistant dean of students, she will continue to enhance student support services, develop initiatives that promote student well-being, and ensure that students at NCCU receive the resources they need to thrive.
