Student Health and Counseling Services
At the North Carolina Central University Student Health and Counseling Center, individual health and wellness needs are attended to in a confidential and caring manner, both on-site and through referral. Primary care services are provided by physician specialists in family medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, and psychiatry. They are complemented by other professional, technical and support staff, including a fully licensed on-site laboratory and pharmacy. Counseling is also an integral part of the services offered by Student Health and Counseling Services.
Sickness and Accident Insurance
The University sponsors a medical insurance plan through a commercial carrier. Students who opt to waive the University medical insurance plan must complete an insurance waiver and show proof of other active medical insurance coverage. Students who opt to waive the student insurance medical plan can still receive services at Student Health and Counseling Services. Any charges incurred will be charged to the student’s account. Students who waive the student insurance medical plan are responsible for submitting their own medical claims. For more information, visit Student Health Insurance.
