Parking Information and Recommendations for Guests
- Carpool and use ride-sharing services:
- NCCU strongly encourages all guests without designated parking passes to carpool and/or use ride-sharing services (e.g., Uber or Lyft) as much as possible. Doing so will help alleviate congestion and make parking more manageable for everyone.
- Parking downtown and nearby lots:
- We recommend that non-VIP/podium guests park downtown Durham or in other available parking lots in the local area. From there, you can walk or ride-share to the university. Please plan ahead, as local parking will be very limited.
- Limited Parking at St. Joseph AME Church for general guest parking:
- A very limited number of parking spots will be available at St. Joseph AME Church. Shuttle services will be provided from the church to the arena.
- Latham Parking Deck (third deck) for general guest parking:
- An extremely limited number of first-come, first-served spots will be available on the third deck of the Latham Parking Deck (accessible only via Lincoln Street entry). However, we strongly recommend that non-parking pass guests prepare for these spots to fill very early in the morning, as they are expected to be in high demand.
- VIPs, podium guests, UNC institutional representatives, and others with specific parking:
- These guests have been notified via email with parking locations. Those with “Latham Deck” parking passes will follow the directions below and use decks 1 and 2 (showing passes to the officers).
- Parking enforcement and restrictions:
- All guests parking in other areas should abide by signage and posted information. Please note that vehicles parked in unapproved areas or university reserved spaces may be ticketed and/or towed. Be sure to pay attention to all parking signage to avoid any inconvenience.
