James Shepard (Formerly Clyde R. Hoey) Administration Building Windows Replacement
Project Scope
The Shepard Administration Building, formerly known as the Clyde R. Hoey Administration Building, was completed in 1929 and is the oldest building on campus. The building is one of eleven buildings contributing to NCCU's Historic District. The project will address restoration of the windows and wood detailing.
The James Shepard (formerly Clyde R. Hoey) Administration Building project is being supported in part or in whole by a Historically Black Colleges and University grant from the Historic Preservation Fund administered by the National Park Service, Department of the Interior, Grant No. P22AP01346-00.

North Carolina Central University is requesting proposals for qualifications from architectural firms (consultants) for the James Shepard (formerly Clyde R. Hoey) Administration Building Windows Replacement project. The consultant(s) must have the requisite experience and training in historic preservation or relevant field to oversee the project work. The RFQ shall be maximum 20 pages, include Letters of Interest, relevant information about the consultant(s) experience in historic preservation and the SF-330 form. All RFQ submittals shall be provided electronically in PDF format on a flash drive.
A pre-proposal meeting will be held on May 24, 2023, at 2 p.m. in front of James Shepard Administration Building main entrance.

Per 2 CFR 200.315(b), the NPS reserves a royalty-free right to reproduce, publish or otherwise use the work for Federal purposes, and to authorize other to do so, any materials produced under this grant. All photos included as part of the interim and final reporting and deliverables/publication will be considered released to the NPS for future official use. Photographer, date and caption should be identified on each photo, so NPS may provide proper credit for use.
