Thursday, April 18: High School and College Musician Day
- 10–11:30 a.m. Workshop: How to Major in Music/What to Choose as a Major/Music Careers/College Pathways. Moderated by Dr. Lenora Helm Hammonds, C. Ruth Edwards Music Hall
- 12 p.m. Lunch jam session with high school students
- 12 p.m. Lunch with high school teachers in the foyer space: NCCU faculty talking about their programs
- 1:30–3 p.m. Master class and discussion with NCCU faculty, BND Annex, Durham
- 7–10 p.m. Off-campus jam sessions at Missy Lane’s Assembly Room, Durham

- 9–10 a.m. Check-in
- 10–11:30 a.m. Google panel discussion about Generative AI and Music, with Sherol Chen and Anna Huang. C. Ruth Edwards Music Hall
- The talk covers research advancements in generative AI from RNNs/LSTMs, CoCoNet (Counterpoint by Convolution), and Variational Autoencoders to Transformers and RL for music, spanning over the past 10 years.
- 12 p.m. Lunch jam session with high school students
