Rob E Stiefvater
Professor Rob Stiefvater has been at North Carolina Central University since 1995. He has served as the Recreation Administration program director since 2007. Before his career in academia, Rob worked in municipal recreation prior to serving in the United States Air Force (USAF), where he worked as a fitness and recreation specialist. He was stationed at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs and at Lowry Air Force Base in Denver, CO. He worked in a variety of recreation settings, including fitness centers, outdoor recreation, intramural sports, athletics, community recreation (travel and tour), arts and crafts hobby shop, and United States Air Force Academy (USAFA) Cadet Clubs. Rob was the intramural sports coordinator while a student at Metropolitan State College in Denver and worked in Campus Recreation as a graduate assistant at Indiana University.
Before serving in the USAF, Rob was a "military brat," being born and raised on Air Force bases around the world. Rob's family retired to their family farm in Plankinton, SD, where he was a farm kid and graduated high school in a class of 28 students. Rob enjoys traveling, cycling and mountain biking, hiking, skiing, camping, riding his motorcycle, and spending time with his dogs.
