Surma Mukhopadhyay

Dr. Surma Mukhopadhyay joined North Carolina Central University at the School of Business as an assistant professor of Computer Information Systems in 2024. She has a Ph.D. degree in management information systems from the University of Mississippi. In addition, she has an undergraduate degree in electrical engineering.

Dr. Mukhopadhyay has several years of experience in teaching in the field of cbersecurity and management information systems. Along with teaching, she is an active and accomplished researcher. Her research interests include computer security and privacy, consumer adoption of technology, and health informatics. She has published in leading peer reviewed journals and presented in top information systems (IS) conferences such as AMCIS, ICIS, and HICSS. Additionally, she was honored with Michael P. Johnson Endowed Professorship by the School of Business at North Carolina Central University in recognition of her scholarly contributions. Outside of her professional pursuits, Dr. Mukhopadhyay enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, listening to music, and singing.
