Michael Hill
Mr. Michael E. Hill serves as chief human resources officer for North Carolina Central University.
In this role, Mr. Hill is responsible for providing human resources services to the faculty and staff of the university and oversees the following functional areas: employment, classification and compensation; employee relations, EEO and Title IX; policy, communication and training; HR benefits and services; and payroll services.
Mr. Hill has more than 18 years of experience overseeing human resources functions in an academic setting.
Most recently, he served as director of human resources at the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, Mich., where he worked closely with the college leadership team to achieve strategic plan goals while managing the employee-benefits system and overseeing federal compliance and other regulatory requirements.
From 2012 to 2017, Mr. Hill worked at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, where he held three roles during the course of his tenure with the university and its health system: assistant director of Human Resources, Student Life Human Resources; performance and human resources consultant with the University of Michigan Health System’s Office for Health Equity and Inclusion; and human resource assistant manager in the Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning.
Mr. Hill holds an undergraduate degree in English and a master’s degree in human resources training and development from Oakland University in Rochester, Mich. In 2018, he received a Master of Science in human resources administration from Central Michigan University. Currently, he is pursuing a doctorate in business administration/human resources from Liberty University.
