Mr. Leslie G. Hurt, Jr. holds an A.D. in Human Services Technology (2004), a B.A. in Sociology (2008, summa cum laude), and an M.A. in Sociology (2011, cum laude) from NCCU. They have served in multiple roles, including interim department chair and co-chair of both the New Faculty Academy and the DEIB Council at Vance Granville Community College.
With over a decade of teaching experience in sociology at both Vance Granville and NCCU, they have taught courses ranging from Social Problems to Cultural Anthropology. Their work extends to research, community service, and published articles on prominent figures like Joseph Sandy Himes Jr. and Helen Grey Edmonds. They have also been recognized with awards, including Faculty of the Year and the Duke Energy Game Changer Award.
