Lei Guo
Professor Lei Guo has been at North Carolina Central University since 2008. He has served as the coordinator of Recreational Therapy undergraduate concentration and now the coordinator of Graduate Online Recreational Therapy concentration. Graduated from Beijing Sports University, Beijing, China, Dr. Guo earned his doctor degree from Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana.
His research focuses on stress and coping, benefits of leisure and recreation for people with disabilities, especially benefits of Tai Chi for people with disabilities and older adults. Recently, Dr. Guo has focused on research studies on the impact of COVID-19 on college students. Dr. Guo has had almost 20 published research papers and over 30 presentations in the national and state-level conferences through the years. Dr. Guo's favorite activity is Tai Chi, and he is working on writing a book on Tai Chi therapy.
