Katrece Boyd
Katrece Boyd is the executive director of the Center for Entrepreneurship and Economic Development (CEED) at North Carolina Central University, where she leads initiatives that drive social and economic mobility for students, faculty, staff, and community members. In addition to her work at CEED, Katrece is a credentialed coach and trained facilitator. She is the founder and principal consultant of Boyd Business Group, LLC, delivering organizational and leadership development services to small and mid-sized enterprises and government agencies.
Previously, she served as a business counselor with the Small Business and Technology Development Center (SBTDC), providing personalized management counseling and educational services to help entrepreneurs improve operational efficiency. She served over 12 years in the financial services industry as a registered representative, regional director, and consultant before transitioning into academia and economic development.
She is actively engaged in community work dedicated to advancing the economic mobility of under-resourced communities, including NC IDEA’s Black Entrepreneurship Council and Habitat for Humanity’s Advocacy Committee and acting as an executive champion with the Climb.
Katrece earned her bachelor's degree in sales and marketing from Tuskegee University. She is a member of the International Coach Federation (ICF) and holds her Associate Certified Coach credential. She’s an Economic Development Finance Professional (EDFP), certified through Grow America, focusing on business credit analysis. She is also trained in professional facilitation and Design Thinking techniques. She is currently pursuing her Executive M.B.A. in Finance and Entrepreneurship.
