Erika Jones
Erika Taylor Jones is an assistant professor of legal writing at North Carolina Central University (NCCU) School of Law. Professor Taylor Jones graduated magna cum laude from NC A&T State University and received her law degree at NCCU School of Law.
After law school, Professor Taylor Jones joined a private practice law firm representing clients in various areas of the law. She left private practice and worked as an agency legal specialist at the North Carolina Industrial Commission. Thereafter, she joined a large defense firm where she handled numerous workers’ compensation claims and other employment-related issues. Professor Taylor Jones has led initiatives throughout her legal career to bring fresh perspectives and find resolutions that benefited all parties involved.
As a practicing attorney, Professor Taylor Jones pursued her passion for empowering and equipping the next legal generation. Prior to becoming a full-time professor at NCCU, she was an adjunct professor in the NCCU School of Law Legal Writing Program for several years and a torts instructor in the paralegal program at Duke University in Durham, N.C.
Professor Taylor Jones is licensed to practice law in North Carolina and the United States Middle District of North Carolina. Professor Taylor Jones was appointed as a trustee member for the North Carolina State Bar Client Security Fund and serves as the chair for 2025. She is a North Carolina Superior Court Certified Mediator and founded Triangle ADR to help parties resolve issues in dispute using alternative dispute resolution techniques.
