Eun Park
Currently, E. K. Park is serving as an associate provost and dean of Research and Sponsored Programs at North Carolina Central University, Durham, NC. Previously, he was the dean of the College of Computing and Software Engineering, the vice provost for Research and the dean of Graduate Studies, and the dean of Research and the Graduate School. Also, he served as a program director at the US National Science Foundation. He also is a tenured full professor.
Park has a strong record of success in academic senior management roles: he has spent many years as a researcher, professor, and university administrator (department chair, dean, vice provost, and NSF program director). He gained a wealth of knowledge and experience of research enterprise administration and research capacity building arena from various leadership positions.
Park is the founder of the Conference on Information and Knowledge Management (CIKM) and the International Conference on Computer Communications and Networks (ICCCN), both top-ranked flagship international conferences that transform and stimulate research with the exchange and presentation of research ideas and activities in areas such as bioinformatics, big data/data analytics and knowledge management, as well as computer communications and networks areas.
Park has published nearly 200 refereed research journal and conference papers in various areas, including eHealthcare systems, and has served as an editor and guest editor for several journals within his research disciplines. He has received research grants from numerous resources, including the US National Science Foundation and the Department of Defense. He has earned various awards for his teaching, research and leadership, including three best paper awards and the Lifetime Achievement Award from the CIKM/Association for Computing Machinery.
He earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois, and previously taught at the US Naval Academy and the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
