Karanja Erastus
Erastus Karanja, (Ph.D., PMP, A+, N+, S+) is an associate professor of Computer Information Systems (CIS) in the NCCU’s School of Business. He has more than 20 years of experience in the IT field. Dr. Karanja holds a master’s degree in computer science and a doctorate in business administration with a concentration in information science and systems. He is a valuable member of the NCCU community, where he continues to provide service, teach and develop curriculums, as well as conduct research.
Within the last 3 years, he has been a part of a team that played significant roles in the establishment of a new degree program, the Bachelor of Science in IT; the creation of a cybersecurity lab; and the certification of the NCCU’s School of Business as a center of academic excellence in cybersecurity, a national designation from the National Security Agency (NSA) and department of Homeland Security.
In addition to working on a $300,000 grant that funded the cybersecurity lab, Dr. Karanja is currently a co-principal investigator on a $149,800 GenCyber grant from the Department of Defense/National Security Agency.
