Deborah DeBourg-Brown
Deborah DeBourg-Brown has taught at NCCU for over 20 years, starting as an adjunct instructor. This is her third year teaching full-time at the university as a clinical assistant professor. She graduated from Rutgers University with a B.A. in History and Economics and an M.B.A. Deborah also received a Master of Accounting degree from UNC's Kenan-Flagler Business School. She is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), boasting over 30 years of business experience in state government and corporate America.
Her hobbies include reading, traveling, and basketball; she really enjoys being a spectator of all types of sports. Deborah enjoys murder mysteries, historical movies, science fiction and reality TV. She particularly enjoys British drama. This preference may be influenced by her upbringing in Trinidad and Tobago, where she completed her primary and secondary education under the British system. Deborah is the proud parent of a daughter, Dr. Jenifer Brown.
Deborah also serves as the faculty advisor for the NABA Inc. NCCU chapter, where they have a very engaged and active membership.
