Deanne Cranford-Wesley
Dr. Deanne Cranford-Wesley is the director of the cybersecurity lab at North Carolina Central University (NCCU); she is also the point of contact for the Center of Academic Excellence (CAE) in Cyber Defense. Dr. Cranford-Wesley is a student mentor and manages outreach efforts. She is also a professor in the Computer Information Systems department in the School of Business.
Dr. Cranford-Wesley was honored for her outreach efforts in cybersecurity by the CAE community in April 2022 and was named Innovator of the Year by E-Council in December 2020. She is a cybersecurity professional and has appeared as a subject matter expert on WRAL, FOX8 and Time Warner News discussing Innovations in cybersecurity, cyberattacks, and ransomware.
Dr. Cranford-Wesley has vast experience in curriculum design, grant writing, and program evaluation. She is also a published author. Dr. Cranford-Wesley possesses a Ph.D. in Education Leadership. Furthermore, she has obtained the following certifications: IC3, Security+, Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) and Cisco Certified Instructor (CCAI).
