Brian A. Robinson is an assistant professor in the Department of History at North Carolina Central University. He received his formal training in American history, spanning from 1789 to the 21st century, at the University of South Carolina. His areas of expertise and research interests encompass African American intellectual history, digital history and digital humanities, 19th-century American history, and the history of southern education.
Before his current role, Robinson served as a Council on Library and Information Resources (CLIR) postdoctoral fellow, focusing on African American studies data curation at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG). His current research explores the relationship between African cultural philosophy and African American history.
