Allan Cooper
Dr. Allan Cooper teaches courses on the presidency as well as courses on constitutional law and international law. He is the author of eight books related to international human rights, as well as numerous articles on domestic and international policy. He has served as a consultant to the U.S. State Department in helping them train ambassadors to Africa.
He has conducted research in dozens of countries and was awarded a Fulbright scholarship to teach international law and politics at Kazan State University in Russia. His research has been sponsored by the National Science Foundation, the National Endowment for the Humanities, the Council for International Educational Exchange, the American Council of Learned Societies and the American Political Science Association.

Research and Professional Work
Dr. Cooper’s research focus has been on the transformation of political identities, especially in environments undergoing revolutionary change. He has engaged in field work to study the Ovambo of Namibia, the Imazighen of Morocco and Tunisia, the Roma of Hungary and Czech Republic, aboriginal communities in Australia, indigenous peoples of China and Taiwan, Muslims of Kashmir, Tatars in Russia and the African diaspora in Cuba.
