Check out our on-demand video library featuring 20 workshops on topics such as learning strategies, online learning, academic and career exploration, reading and writing strategies, and personal management.
UpSwing provides timely and seamless access to subject-specific help that students need to succeed and persist by providing a ‘round-the-clock network of tutors. Students can schedule a tutoring session at a time that works for them, including after hours and on weekends.

SmarterMeasure is a web-based assessment that measures non-cognitive attributes, technical skills and readiness for online and self-regulated learning. Students receive a detailed report of their results with positive reinforcement and helpful resources.
- The assessment measures several components of learning readiness, including life factors, individual attributes, learning styles, technical competency, technical knowledge, on-screen reading rate and recall, typing speed and accuracy, and LMS competency.
DegreeWorks is a web-based advising tool that will produce a user-friendly academic evaluation to help students and advisors monitor progress toward degree completion. DegreeWorks combines North Carolina Central University’s degree requirements and the coursework you have completed into an easy-to-read worksheet that helps you see how courses that you have completed count toward degree requirements and helps you see what courses and requirements you still need to complete in order to graduate.
Navigate is a free mobile and desktop app that will help you thrive at North Carolina Central University. Navigate can help students at all levels, whether you are just getting started or nearing graduation. It is your own personal advisor—right in the palm of your hand. Success tools offered within Navigate include:

The mission of the libraries at North Carolina Central University is to provide resources and services that support the University's educational, research, cultural and public service objectives. The libraries provide services such as:
- Library services and a database search by which you can easily search the content from NCCU libraries
- Need research help? You can request library instruction or a one-on-one consultation.
- Find a librarian assigned to your academic department.
- Find subject guides that provide librarian-recommended resources.

The Office of Student Accessibility Services (SAS) provides accommodations and support services to NCCU scholars with a learning difference, disability (physical, learning or psychological) or medical condition. The Career and Professional Development Center is dedicated to helping NCCU students get career ready for life. We collaborate with student organizations, faculty and campus departments to offer transformative career and professional development events. The office provides the following services:
- Use the Handshake platform to search for employment opportunities and internships developed through the Career Center.
- Through the VMock platform, you can upload your resume and get instant feedback.
- Use Big Interview to learn and practice your interview skills, whether you’re interviewing for a job or graduate school.
- Unsure what you can do with a certain major? Use What Can I Do With This Major? This website will help you connect majors to careers. Learn about typical career areas and types of employers that hire people with each major, as well as strategies to make you a more marketable candidate. The purpose of the Writing Studio is to offer free writing enrichment. Our friendly, experienced consultants help writers with brainstorming, organizing ideas, developing rough drafts, and refining, editing, and proofreading. We offer one-on-one and small-group sessions. Our online, daytime, evening and weekend services support you in the craft of writing when it fits your schedule best.

The Men's Achievement Center (MAC) is committed to enriching the quality of students' collegiate experience and ensuring their success at NC Central and beyond. It features programs such as:
- African-American Male Initiative: Members participate in academic, leadership, identity, financial and spiritual development, as well as opportunities to experience a sense of manhood/masculinity and brotherhood.
- Alumni sponsors: Our Alumni sponsors help our program participants secure job opportunities, internships and mentor support, as well as donating to provide substantial support throughout the school year.

The Women's Center empowers students to find their voices by promoting personal and professional development and celebrating the strengths and aspirations of women. It features programs such as the following:
- Each year, the Women's Center hosts Consent Week, a week full of events to discuss sexual empowerment and consent and to raise awareness around sexual violence.
- The Women's Center also encourages students, faculty and staff to participate in Denim Day, an international social movement in which participants wear jeans as a sign of protest against victim blaming.
- The Women's Center offers many community service opportunities via affiliated organizations.

The NCCU Veterans Affairs (VA) office aims to provide a smooth transition from the military to college life for veterans, service members and dependents. NCCU is recognized by G. I. Jobs as a "Military Friendly School" and has established Eagle Vets, a recognized chapter of Student Veterans of America. Our team can assist you with the VA educational benefits process and offer overall support to ensure academic progress toward graduation.

The Office of Transfer Services (OTS) seeks to educate, engage and establish excellence by providing transfer students the resources they need to become productive members of the NCCU community. It features services such as:
- Transfer student groups, including the Tau Sigma National Honor Society and the Transfer Student Association
- Transfer scholarship opportunities for qualified full-time and part-time transfer students who complete an Associate of Arts, Associate of Science, or Associate of Applied Science degree program at a North Carolina community college.

On-campus Events and Groups
NCCU has developed multiple groups and events to ensure that new and continuing students have the resources to achieve their educational goals. SOAR Orientation assists students to acclimate to NCCU systems and processes. Groups such as the Transfer Student Association and Tau Sigma National Honor Society assist students to stay engaged and connected.

SOAR is for first-time students who have recently graduated from high school and transfer students from a community college or other four-year institution; it is designed to help you make a smooth transition to life at NCCU. During this orientation, you will immerse yourself in NCCU's traditions, campus culture and academic programs. You will also learn about the exciting new experiences and challenges you may encounter during your first year, including academic expectations and student life.

The Transfer Student Association (TSA)'s mission is to develop programs that encourage a seamless transition for students transferring to NCCU. TSA is committed to providing support services, advocacy, networking opportunities and programs to transfer students.

The purpose of the Tau Sigma National Honor Society is to acknowledge the academic accomplishments of the most academically gifted transfer students. Tau Sigma assists in providing a welcoming atmosphere for transfer students. The Gamma Chi Chapter at NCCU was founded in 2012.

NCCU Online Events and Groups (Students admitted to an online degree program)
NCCU Online is dedicated to providing our non-traditional student population with support systems to aid them as they progress toward degree completion. Students enrolled in an online degree program attend a live virtual NCCU Online: Orientation. Students also stay engaged by participating in groups such as the Omega Nu Lambda Honor Society and student success sessions/groups.

The Division of Extended Studies hosts live virtual orientation sessions for all newly admitted students. The session assists students to acclimate to NCCU systems and processes. The session also covers online learning tools, NCCU offices and resources.
