Immunization and Records

The state of North Carolina public law requires that you submit proof of your immunizations to the Student Health Center within 30 days of your acceptance at NC Central University. The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services answers questions about college and university immunization requirements.

Locating proof of your immunizations can be challenging. If you or your parents do not have your immunization records, we recommend that you check with your personal physician, county health department, previous university attended, or military branch. The NC Department of Health and Human Services has additional tips for locating your immunization record.

If you do not have immunization at all, you’ll need to visit your healthcare provider to receive the required immunizations. Have your doctor supply you with a copy of your immunization record that shows the date of the immunizations received. Records should then be entered and uploaded to the medical records portal (Visit now).

NC Public Law does not apply to:

• Students classified as “Distance Education"
• Students attending night or weekend classes only
• Students registered for four credit hours or less and residing off-campus.

Please note that if at any time you are considered an on-campus student, you will have to meet North Carolina Immunization requirements.

Enrollment in online classes does not constitute you as being a Distance Education Program student. As such, students who are taking a class or classes online are still required to submit proof of immunization compliance.
