North Carolina Central University is undertaking a comprehensive data governance assessment to strengthen our institutional data management practices. Launched in February 2025 and set for completion by June 2025, this initiative is structured into two key phases designed to assess, refine, and implement a sustainable data governance framework.
Phase 1: Assessment and Roadmap Development
The initial phase focuses on evaluating NCCU’s current data governance landscape, identifying areas for improvement, assessing institutional readiness for transformation, and developing a strategic roadmap for data governance implementation.
Phase 2: Implementation and Policy Development
Building on Phase 1 findings, this phase will solidify NCCU’s data governance strategy by finalizing the roadmap, establishing documentation for new policies and procedures, and facilitating the transition to an optimized governance framework. This initiative is critical in enhancing data integrity, accessibility, and security across the university. By fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making, NCCU is positioning itself for greater efficiency, transparency, and innovation in institutional operations. Stay tuned for updates as we advance this transformative effort.
