Building Environmental Services Guidance

The Building Environmental Services (BES) teams are trained and fully equipped with supplies, equipment and processes to clean and disinfect our campus. Team members will disinfect all commonly touched areas in offices, classrooms, restrooms, lounges and common areas throughout each weekday. To help combat spread, employees will be asked to clean their workspaces daily, including computers, keyboards, telephones and other equipment.  

BES uses a chemical that is EPA approved against viruses, including COVID-19. Our staff technicians will spray each area and allow time for the disinfectant to work. Technicians will then come back and wipe any residual moisture from the area. Each area will be cleaned before and after students, faculty and staff arrive and leave daily.

Daily

• Offices/workspaces disinfected 
• Classrooms disinfected 
• Stairwells and floors mopped and disinfected
• Restroom supplies restocked
• Windowsills disinfected 
• Elevators disinfected 
• Common spaces disinfected 

Multiple times a day

• High-touch areas disinfected
• Restrooms disinfected 
• Building lobbies disinfected 

Monthly

• Ceiling vents disinfected 

• Wash your hands
• Wear a mask
• Cover your mouth when you cough or sneeze
• Use hand sanitizer
• Use social distancing of 6 feet

• Report the case to Student Health Services
• Isolate the individual
• Trace the individual’s actions and visits
• Make all necessary notifications
• Quarantine all exposed and follow CDC guidelines
• Clean, disinfect, and sanitize all areas of concern with a licensed specialized company
• Monitor individuals along with Student Health Services
