Kinesiology and Recreation Administration Student Organizations

The Phi Epsilon Kappa Fraternity is a national, professional, honorary fraternity that was founded in 1913 originally for individuals engaged in the field of physical education.  Fraternity membership has since expanded to include individuals engaged in or pursuing careers in kinesiology-related fields such as health, physical education, recreation, dance, human performance, exercise science, athletic training, sport administration and management, and sport studies. The North Carolina Central University chapter is Eta Alpha.

Rho Phi Lambda is the national honorary society for recreation, parks and leisure services. The North Carolina Central University Parks and Recreation Management Chapter is Alpha Sigma. To achieve the honor of membership in Rho, a student must show evidence of academic excellence in scholarship, leadership, and service to campus and community.

The Kinesiology and Recreation Administration Member Association (KARMA) is an organization to stimulate professional interest in the fields of sports medicine, kinesiology, and recreation. Any matriculated student in the Department of Kinesiology and Recreation Administration interested in sports medicine, kinesiology, or recreation administration who is willing to support and promote the mission of this organization is eligible to become a member.

The mission of ATSA is to stimulate professional interest in the fields of athletic training, physical therapy, and related allied health occupations. The aims of ATSA are as follows:

1. To provide professional opportunities for participation in programs related to athletic training, physical therapy, and related allied health occupations
2. To increase the knowledge of individuals interested in these areas
3. To communicate the needs and interests of NCCU’s majors in athletic training and allied health occupations to the members of the college community, local, state, regional, and national entities
4. To enhance awareness of athletic training, physical therapy, and related allied health majors
