Students graduating from the program will demonstrate the following entry-level knowledge: (a) the nature and scope of the relevant parks, recreation, tourism and related professions and their associated industries; (b) techniques and processes used by professionals and workers in these industries; and (c) the foundation of the profession in history, science and philosophy.
Outcome 1 from Standard 7.01: Students shall demonstrate entry-level knowledge of the nature and scope of recreation and leisure services.
Outcome 1 Assessment Method: Students in the Introduction to Practical Experience in Recreation course completed a practicum at a recreation agency and completed an agency analysis.

Outcome 1 Result: For the 2021–2022 academic year, 100% of Recreation Administration Program students (N=21) achieved 70% or higher on the Agency Analysis Class Project/Presentation assignment as assessed by a rubric.

Students graduating from the program will demonstrate the ability to design, implement and evaluate services that facilitate targeted human experiences and that embrace the personal and cultural dimensions of diversity.

COAPRT Standard 7.03
Students graduating from the program will demonstrate entry-level knowledge about the operations and strategic management or administration of parks, recreation, tourism or related professions.
Outcome 3 from Standard 7.03: Students graduating from the Recreation Administration Program will be able to describe basic human resources management concepts, principles and procedures related to the management/administration of the recreational agency.
Outcome 3 Assessment Method: The Agency Site Supervisor Final Evaluation Survey of NCCU Recreation Administration Program Student Intern was the method used to assess this standard. The evaluation is a five-point Likert Scale ranging from "Strongly Agree" (5) to "Strongly Disagree" (1). Site supervisors complete the internship evaluation after the student’s internship experience. In addition to the site supervisor’s observations and interactions with the internship student, students submit a comprehensive analysis of the agency’s management and operations. Each agency supervisor evaluates the student intern’s ability to demonstrate entry-level knowledge about the operations and strategic management or administration in parks, recreation, tourism or related professions. The intern’s ability to describe basic concepts, principles, and procedures related to the management/administration of the recreational agency was analyzed.

Outcome 3 Program Standard: 80% or more of internship site supervisors will “agree” or “strongly agree” to the following statement on the Agency Site Supervisor Final Evaluation Survey of NCCU Recreation Administration Program Student Intern: (the internship student had the) “Ability to describe basic human resources management concepts, principles, and procedures related to the management/administration of the recreational agency.”
Outcome 3 Result: During the 2021–2022 academic year, when asked to assess the student intern’s ability to perform fundamental, entry-level and managerial competencies in an Agency Site Supervisor’s final evaluation of the student intern, 100% of student’s site supervisors (N=17) agreed or strongly agreed with the statement: (the internship student had the) “Ability to describe basic human resources management concepts, principles, and procedures related to the management/administration of the recreational agency.”
COAPRT Standard 7.04
Students graduating from the program shall demonstrate, through a comprehensive internship of not less than 400 clock hours and no fewer than 10 weeks, the potential to succeed as professionals at supervisory or higher levels in park, recreation, tourism or related organizations.

Outcome 4 Result: During the 2021–2022 academic year, when asked to assess the student “potential to succeed as a professional at supervisory or higher levels in park, recreation, tourism, or related organizations” in an Agency Site Supervisor’s final evaluation of the student intern, 91.7% of student’s site supervisors (N=12) agreed or strongly agreed with the statement: "The student intern demonstrated the potential to succeed as a professional at supervisory or higher levels in park, recreation, tourism or related organizations."
