Dr. Hall and Dr. Leslie Johnson are investigating how artificial intelligence tools can support student learning. Their project, "Enhancing Success through AI-Facilitated Learning in Communication Sciences and Disorders," is part of NCCU's Faculty Research Awards Program (FRAP) to address challenges in higher education intensified by the COVID-19 pandemic. Congratulations to Dr. Abdelaziz! NCCU is pleased to share that Dr. Abdelaziz has received a faculty research award grant for her study "Exploring Arabic-Speaking Caregivers’ Interactional Patterns During Shared Book Reading." This research aims to deepen our understanding of family language interactions in diverse communities. We also cannot wait to see Dr. Abdelaziz represent the NCCU Eagles, along with Dr. Hao, by presenting at the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) Convention this December in Seattle. Dr. Abdelaziz also heads up our Bilingual concentration. This specialty focus equips both mono- and multilingual graduate students to meet the growing demand for culturally and linguistically responsive services. For more information, please contact Dr. Mariam Abdelaziz at [email protected].
Congratulations to Dr. Fannin, Associate Professor in Communication Sciences and Disorders at NCCU, on her appointment as editor-in-chief of the Perspectives of the ASHA Special Interest Groups journal, starting January 1, 2025.
