Program Overview
The MAT in Special Education with a focus on Visual Impairment is a 53-credit hour program for students who do not have an initial teaching license. The program provides students with initial license competencies in teaching reading and math, as well as knowledge of special education. The program also includes courses in braille and braille instruction, the expanded core curriculum, adaptations, digital and tactile literacy tools, and working with families and other professionals to address student needs.
