Higher Education Administration, M.S.

Program Overview

North Carolina Central University’s Master of Science (M.S.) in Higher Education Administration Program is designed for prospective higher education professionals who desire to attain strong theoretical skills and competencies necessary to excel in diverse higher education settings. This program aims to produce exceptional practitioners who exemplify best practices to foster 21st-century college environments in which all students can thrive and successfully matriculate in a timely manner.

The M.S. in Higher Education Administration is a 42-credit hour program that is offered 100% online. The program requires a 150-hour internship in a setting commensurate with the student's field of study.

Tuesdays Together: National Speaker Series for 2021–2022

This series aims to expose students to a range of persons and organizations throughout the nation. The 2021–2022 theme is higher education leadership.

Admission Requirements

The requirements for all applicants are as follows:

  • Online graduate admission application
  • $50 non-refundable application fee
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • Official transcripts of all schools attended (if you earned your degree from a non-US school, please see the international applicant requirements)
  • A minimum 2.75 cumulative undergraduate GPA
  • A minimum 3.00 cumulative GPA (second master-degree-seeking candidates only)
  • Statement of purpose or personal statement
  • An interview
