Program Overview
The Clinical Mental Health Counseling MA prepares counselors who will work in clinical capacities in mental health settings such as agencies, private practice, hospitals, and prisons.
The program provides students with comprehensive curricular and supervised experiences for initial licensure with the NC Board of Licensed Professional Counselors and qualification as a National Certified Counselor by the National Board of Certified Counselors. With an additional three addiction courses, students are also eligible for licensure as a Clinical Addiction Specialist.
The program is fully accredited for online and campus instruction by the Council for the Accreditation of Counseling & Related Programs (CACREP) and is an endorsed member of the International Registry of Counselor Education Programs (ICREP).
