Program Overview
The NCCU Non-profit Management Certificate is an online four-course, 12-credit non-degree program offered by the Department of Public Administration for individuals who have completed an undergraduate degree and are looking for specialized graduate-level study in non-profit management. Upon completion, a certificate is issued by NCCU Division of Extended Studies, and the courses are recorded on the student's transcript at NCCU.
The Non-profit Management Certificate curriculum is grounded in the discipline of public administration and provides students with skills in management, non-profit finance, strategic planning, and social entrepreneurship. The four courses are PADG 5200: Non-profit Management, PADG 5201: Strategic Planning and Management of Non-profit Organizations, PADG 5230: Non-profit Funding and Financial Management, and PADG 5250: Non-profit Management and Social Entrepreneurship. These courses cover both conceptual and practical topics to enhance students’ ability to manage and lead in the non-profit sector, with a special focus on community-based work and social entrepreneurship.
The courses are generally offered two per semester in fall and spring, allowing for completion over the course of a year. Courses are taught by NCCU Public Administration faculty and practitioners in the non-profit field.
