Renee Clark Bush has spent her entire professional career in client service industries. She began as a public accountant for one of the big four accounting firms before she transitioned to pursue her passion in higher education. Her career path led her to work in Student Affairs at Duke University and North Carolina Central University before her experience in advancement and fundraising began.
Ms. Bush currently serves as the director of annual giving for the Darden School of Business Foundation at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, which is one of the top global business schools, leading strategy and execution for its multimillion-dollar program. In this role, she manages a portfolio of approximately 150 leadership annual giving and planned giving prospects, as well as all aspects of the annual fund. Her coordination of timely and personalized stewardship resulted in $5.6M raised in FY19 and increased alumni participation of 37%. Prior to this role, she also served as the director of the annual fund for the Curry School of Education Foundation.
Renee earned her Master of Accountancy at the University of Virginia in 2007 and is a Ph.D. candidate for Educational Research, Policy and Analysis at North Carolina State, with an anticipated completion of 2020. She is also chair of the NCCU University College Advisory Board.
