Michael Brown is the president and CEO of M3L Global Strategies Group LLC, located in Charlotte, NC. He has spent the past several years handling government and public affairs for multinational corporations, including Bank of America, the National Urban League, British American Tobacco, the University of North Carolina System, and global trade organizations.
Michael began his career in local government management throughout the southeast region. He was a senior member of the 2008 and 2012 Obama campaigns and was ultimately appointed to President Barack Obama’s administration from 2009 to 2014. A senior member of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, he led the Affordable Care Act outreach effort in the southeast and southwest. As senior advisor of intergovernmental relations for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, Michael led Hurricane Sandy relief efforts. He also served the U.S. Small Business Administration as special assistant to the administrator.
Michael earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the University of South Carolina and a Master of Public Administration from North Carolina Central University, and he has studied urban policy and development at Georgetown University. He has also been recognized in “Who’s Who in Charlotte,” has received numerous awards for community engagement and sits on several local and national boards.
Michael resides in Charlotte with his wife, Monique; son Michael Brown (Tripp); and daughter Londyn.
