Cassandra Stokes is a double Eagle, earning both her undergraduate and Juris Doctor degrees from North Carolina Central University. Graduating from law school, attorney Stokes has dedicated her career to public service, during which many professional, educational and civic organizations have been beneficiaries of her strong leadership, stewardship and guidance.
Cultivated by her passion for political equity and community advocacy, attorney Stokes brings creative leadership to municipal, county-level, and statewide electoral campaigns and has led successful undefeated races. She is currently employed as the democracy and economy coordinator for NC Black Alliance, where she focuses on continued advocacy around redistricting and democracy in Black communities as well as election law and voter protection in North Carolina.
Attorney Stokes currently serves as the vice chair for Durham Mayor's Council for Women, first vice chair of the Durham Democratic Party and political chair for the Durham Committee on the Affairs of Black People. She is a proud 2011 spring initiate of the NCCU Alpha Chi chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, and is committed to relational organizing, public interest matters and progressive leadership in state and local government.
