Clery Act
NCCU complies with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act), which requires all colleges and universities that participate in federal financial aid programs to maintain and disclose campus safety and security related policies and crime statistics for crimes that occur on and near their respective campuses.

NCCU Alert: The university will operate under Condition 1 (Reduced Operations) of the Adverse Weather and Emergency Event Policy on Monday, March 16, effective at 12 p.m. through 11:59 p.m. A strong storm system will bring widespread hazardous weather… conditions to the region. NCCU Alert: A Winter Storm Advisory has been issued for Durham and surrounding areas. The university will operate under Condition 2 (Suspended Operations) of the Adverse Weather and Emergency Event Policy effective on Thursday, Feb. 5. at… 12 a.m., through 10 a.m. This is a two-hour opening delay and normal operations will resume at 10 a.m. Classes starting before 10 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 5, are cancelled, and all non-essential campus operations are suspended during this period. Annual Security and Fire Safety Reports
The Annual Security and Fire Safety Report is a tool to utilize for informational purposes when the reader wishes to make an inquiry regarding campus safety. It also provides steps you can take to maximize your personal safety. The goal of the entire NCCU community is to remain in compliance with the Clery Act and to be totally transparent when reporting crimes.

The CSA Reference Manual is a guide for campus security authorities (CSAs). It explains the following:
- The role of a CSA
- Crime reporting
- Clery crimes and the definition of each crime

Clery Geography Map
The Clery Geography Map outlines NCCU’s Clery Jurisdiction. Clery crimes that occur within any of the areas identified on the map must be reported within the university’s Clery reporting.

The Clery Act outlines specific crimes that NCCU must report. "Clery Crimes and Definitions" outlines the formal definition of crimes that occur on NCCU’s campus and ensures consistency across the Police Department as we work to appropriately classify and report incidents that occur within our geography.
