The North Carolina Central University School of Law offers several programs that can lead to the award of a joint degree:
- Juris Doctor/Master of Business Administration (J.D./M.B.A.)
- Juris Doctor/Master of Library Science or Information Science (J.D./M.L.S./M.I.S.)
- Juris Doctor/Master of Public Administration (J.D./M.P.A.)
- Juris Doctor/Master of Public Policy (J.D./M.P.P.) – with Duke University
- Juris Doctor/Master of Arts in History (J.D./M.A.)
To participate in any of the above-referenced programs, the candidate must apply and be accepted to both the School of the Law and the advanced degree program of their choice. Prospective joint degree students should investigate these options prior to or at the end of their first year of study at the School of Law.
The lone exception is the J.D./M.P.P. program with Duke University, for which it is preferred that students complete the first year of the M.P.P. program before beginning their studies at the School of Law. Qualified candidates can typically expect to receive their joint degree in a four-year period.
