Ms. Johneta Devoe is a professor of history at North Carolina Central University, where she teaches courses in African American and world history.
Ms. Devoe is a product of NCCU’s prestigious History department, where she received both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees. She is currently in the process of completing her Ph.D. in History from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Her dissertation is focused on recovering the intellectual histories of leftist Black women during the interwar period. Her other research interests include African Diaspora studies, Black women’s history, and Black radicalism.
Beyond academia, Ms. Devoe is an avid reader who enjoys exploring different cultures through literature, music and art.
