Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders Admissions

In CSDCAS, you can apply for the two-year program, which is most appropriate for students who have completed their prerequisite coursework, or the three-year program, which is often the best option for students without a background in communication sciences and disorders. The faculty in the Department of CSD make the final determination as to which course sequence is appropriate.

1. All application materials must be submitted through the CSDCAS website. 
2. Submit one official transcript from each college or university attended directly to CSDCAS. You must submit an official transcript even if you have only taken one course at the institution. Request official transcripts well in advance as it may take four weeks for CSDCAS to verify transcripts. For more information about submitting transcripts, visit the CSDCAS website.
3. Answer all questions and provide all requested supplemental information.
4. Submit three letters of recommendation. Preferably, two of the three letters should be from faculty who can address your academic ability or clinical potential. In the CSDCAS application, you will enter the email addresses of your recommenders and CSDCAS will send them a recommendation request.
5. Upload a personal statement in the "Documents" section of CSDCAS. Your statement must address the prompt provided in the CSDCAS application.
6. Upload a copy of your resume or curriculum vitae (CV) in the “Documents” section of the CSDCAS website.
7. A personal interview may be required. Applicants will be notified after the application deadline to schedule an interview if necessary. Interviews will commence in February and will likely be virtual.

1. Applicants must complete a brief NCCU application. Create an account to complete the application.
2. You must pay a separate application fee of $50 to NCCU.
3. Once you have submitted your official transcripts to CSDCAS, they will be transferred to your NCCU application.
4. If you do not complete both the CSDCAS application and the NCCU application by the deadline, your application will not be reviewed.

Due to the number of requests, it is not possible to have individual meetings with each interested student. Therefore, group information sessions are scheduled. Applicants are encouraged to join us to receive additional information regarding the academic and clinical aspects of the master's program. Sessions are held on Fridays.
