The goal of NCCU's Police Department (NCCUPD) is to provide a safe and secure campus, which can only be realized through establishing partnerships with our students, faculty, staff, and community.
The Daily Crime and Fire Log is updated within two business days in compliance with the Jeanne Clery Act and contains crimes and fires reported to the NCCU Police Department.
We offer training throughout the year to equip NCCU community members with the necessary knowledge to protect their well-being and safety. View our current training and outreach programs.
This form allows for the submission of a comment for superior service or complaint against a law enforcement employee with the NCCU Police Department. Completion of this form notifies the department of the issue for review.
The NCCUPD participates in the CALEA Law Enforcement Accreditation process. As a part of this process, we invite your feedback on our engagement in the community and delivery of public safety services. You can make your comments by using this link.
The departmental internship program is designed to provide an experiential learning experience to students interested in law enforcement or other fields. Interested students should complete the application at this link.
Throughout the year, various campus departments host events that may require police and security presence. So that we can ensure adequate staffing, student groups and campus departments should submit this form. We will complete a review to determine available staff and ensure successful events campus-wide.
The NCCU Police Department is proud to have loyal, efficient and inspiring employees who provide valuable services to our university community. The program acknowledges those employees' outstanding accomplishments and expresses appreciation for their achievements.
North Carolina Central University uses the RAVE Mobility System to provide emergency notifications and essential information to the campus.
The Clery Act requires the collection and publication of campus crime statistics and security information for all colleges and universities that participate in federal financial aid programs.
The University Police Department is structured to include 33 sworn law enforcement officers, 14 security officers, 9 telecommunicators, 2 operators, 2 security technology staff members, and 4 administrative staff members.
